NEF Grants 2026-2027: Empowering Innovation. Inspiring Impact.
The Northville Educational Foundation (NEF) is excited to announce the 2026-2027 NEF Grant Program, supporting innovative ideas, creative learning experiences, and meaningful opportunities that enhance education across Northville Public Schools.
NEF Grants are available to all Northville Public Schools staff, providing resources to bring impactful ideas to life and enrich learning experiences for students. Whether you're launching a new program, enhancing classroom engagement, or addressing a unique student need, we encourage you to think big and apply.
Student Grants are also available, giving students the opportunity to turn their ideas into action. With the support of a teacher or staff advisor, students can submit proposals that positively impact their school, classmates, and learning community.
Together, these grants help foster innovation, expand opportunities, and create meaningful experiences that inspire student success.
Grant Review Criteria
All applications will be reviewed through a competitive evaluation process conducted by an impartial review committee. Proposals will be considered based on:
Innovation and creativity
Potential impact on students and learning
Alignment with curriculum goals and/or School or District Improvement Plans
Sustainability and overall value of the project
Grant Timeline
Applications Open: September 15, 2026
Application Deadline: October 23, 2026
Award Notifications: By mid-November 2026

NEF has helped bring innovative ideas to life across Northville classrooms, schools, and programs, including:
A dedicated RISE Room at Cooke School to support student well-being and self-regulation.
"Voices for All," a student-led podcast created by and for students with special needs.
Expanded access to inclusive experiences through Silent Disco for All and social-emotional learning initiatives.
Hands-on STEM opportunities including robotics, coding, engineering, and fiber laser cutting technology at Northville High School.
Creative literacy initiatives such as the Fairy Door Literacy Walk and classroom reading support programs.
Sensory spaces, peer connection programs, career readiness tools, internship tracking resources, and collaborative learning experiences across the district.
Innovative projects supporting communication, independence, life skills, and inclusion for students at Cooke School.
From literacy and STEM to wellness, inclusion, career readiness, and student engagement, NEF grants help transform innovative ideas into meaningful opportunities for Northville students.

The NEF Grant Program supports innovative projects that make a meaningful difference for students across Northville Public Schools. Since its inception, NEF has awarded nearly $300,000 to fund creative ideas and unique learning opportunities throughout the district. Applications are open to all district staff, and students are encouraged to apply with the support of a staff advisor. We invite bold ideas that will impact students, inspire innovation, and ignite new possibilities for learning.
