2025–26 Parent Camp Series
Community Screening Recap: The First Day
On November 5, families gathered at the Northville Marquis Theatre for a powerful community screening of The First Day, hosted by the Northville Educational Foundation. Students in grades 6–12, along with their parents and caregivers, came together for an honest and meaningful conversation around mental wellness, substance use, and making healthy choices.
The film, featuring former NBA player and wellness advocate Chris Herren, shared a deeply personal story of recovery and resilience—one that resonated strongly with both students and adults in the room. Following the screening, a live Q&A panel with local professionals offered thoughtful insight, practical resources, and space for continued reflection.
We are grateful to our partners—Northville Public Schools, Northville Youth Network, and the Northville PTA Council—and to the panelists who helped guide this important conversation and support our families.
This event marked the first of the NEF Parent Camp Mini Series, with additional opportunities ahead:
February 7, 2026 – NEF Parent Camp & Wellness Fair
April 2026 – Parent Camp Mini Series event for families with students in grades K–5
Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this evening so impactful. More details on upcoming events will be shared soon.
“Parent Camp was wonderful! I intended on only coming for the keynote speaker, but then I saw all of the amazing breakout sessions and decided I had to stay! I called my husband and told him he had to handle the kids today—I have to stay and hear these fantastic speakers. I am so glad I did. I learned so much!”
